• Special Barrington Town Council meeting tied to mooring fee feud (eastbayri.com) — A Barrington resident’s fight over a $100 mooring fee has pushed the Town Council to redo a special meeting and reintroduce changes to the town’s boat-mooring ordinance in January. After alleging Open Meetings Act violations, he’s asking the Attorney General to void the earlier session and is urging a fuller public discussion of how appeals are handled in Barrington’s harbor system.

• East Providence swears in three new police officers (eastbayri.com) — A Barrington native, Jacob Scorpio, has just graduated the state police academy and been sworn in as one of three new officers with the East Providence Police Department. A 2020s Barrington High School alum, he’ll now serve the neighboring city alongside two other recruits, one local to East Providence and one experienced lateral transfer. City leaders emphasized training, advancement, and strong community support for the new officers.
