Barrington Ranked One Of Safest Towns In Rhode Island

BARRINGTON, RI — Barrington has been ranked as one of the safest towns in Rhode Island. According to the website Security Baron, the town ranks 11th on the list of Rhode Island's safest communities.

The website made this ranking based on review of FBI statistics on violent and property crime. According to the study, Barrington has a rate of 0.61 violent crimes per 1,000 citizens and 7.79 property crimes per 1,000 citizens.

The safest community in Rhode Island is Glocester, according to Security Baron. Glocester's violent crime rate is 0.3 per 1,000 citizens, and its property crime rate is 3.26 per 1,000 citizens.

"Theft or violence can occur 'in the nick of time' and no one is immune," said Gabe Turner of Security Baron. "Although it is difficult to predict when crime will occur, it is vital to ensure the area you are visiting or moving to is secure and not infamous for any sort of criminal behavior."
