Barrington Special Educators Honored
Barrington Special Education Advisory Committee holds 6th annual award ceremony

The Special Education Advisory Committee for the Barrington Public Schools held its 6th annual award ceremony on Tuesday, May 29. Eight staff members were recognized for going above and beyond, in their work to improve the lives and educations of Barrington students with special needs. Left to right, in photo, are the winners: Maisie Morey, Occupational Therapist; Jonathan Hackett, Special Educator at Barrington High School; Barbara Nozaki, Teacher's Aide at Barrington Middle School; Stuart Moran, Physical Education Teacher at Barrington Middle and High Schools, and Unified Basketball Coach for the Middle School; Cristen Smith, Second Grade Teacher at Nayatt School; Kelsey Avila, Behavioral Specialist at Primrose Hill School; Taylor Ricker, Consulting Behavior Technician from Pathways, working in Barrington High School; and Doniell Remington, Special Education Teacher at Sowams School. The celebration was well attended by families, teachers, administrators, and friends, and the tributes offered by the students made the event especially memorable for all.
