RHODE ISLAND — Niche.com released its 2022 rankings of the best public high schools in the United States, including the top 36 best in Rhode Island.

The rankings factored in academic and student life data from thousands of schools across the country. The most heavily weighed factor was academics, but Niche also looked at culture and diversity, teachers, clubs and activities, sports, and more. You can read more about Niche's methodology here.

The top-ranked public high school in the country was The Davidson Academy, located in Reno, Nevada. The best public high school in Rhode Island was Barrington High School, which was ranked No. 448 in the U.S.
