Ex-Pediatrician With Practices In RI, MA Sentenced For Molesting Child

BARRINGTON, RI — A former pediatrician from Rhode Island was sentenced Tuesday to serve seven years in prison after being convicted of molesting a child.
David Healey, 52, of Barrington, pleaded no contest back in April to second-degree child molestation. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with seven to serve and the remaining eight suspended. He also must serve 15 years of probation and register as a sex offender.
Police said the investigation into Healey began Jan. 25 and involved a juvenile. No further details about the incident were provided.

Barrington police said Healey was a licensed doctor in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He was listed as a pediatrician at practices in North Providence and Worcester, Massachusetts.
