High Bacteria Levels Close Barrington Town Beach For Swimming

The Rhode Island Department of Health closed the beach to swimming on Thursday after taking water samples.

BARRINGTON, RI — The Barrington Town Beach has closed for swimming, the Rhode Island Department of Health said Thursday.

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) recommended the closure because high bacteria levels make swimming unsafe.

RIDOH officials said they will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout summer.
