Human Skeletal Remains Found In Barrington At Least 75 Years Old: Report

The location the bones were found was consistent with a burial site, but more archaeological confirmation is needed.

BARRINGTON, RI — Human skeletal remains found at a construction site in Barrington on Thursday are reportedly at least 75-to-100 years old.

WPRI 12 reported that an archaeologist determined the age of remains. The location they were found was consistent with a burial site, but more archaeological confirmation is needed before more information is released, according to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner's Office.

Barrington police said a contractor found the remains at a job site on Elm Way on Thursday.

According to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner's Office, the remains were human, but the burial was not recent. Police said they responded to the job site again on Friday to collect additional evidence.
