A Barrington pro, Eric Dontas, will lead the program, said Michele Geremia, recreation director.
“He’s mowing the grass and setting up a green for chipping and putting,” she said of the conservation area, which includes the community garden and leaf-dumping area.

“The kids will be hitting plastic golf balls that simulate the real thing,” she said.
The one-week sessions run from 4:30 to 6 pm Monday through Friday. There are three sessions: July 8-12, July 15-19 and July 22-26.
The mission of the new program, said Geremia, is to “teach the children important golf-swing fundamentals while having fun."
Children of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Learn about the program yourself at the “opening day” on Sunday.
