Man Charged With Threatening to Punch Nonprofit's Workers
Cranston man allegedly threatens to punch workers at a Barrington nonprofit. A charge does not mean a conviction.

A Cranston man, 40, was charged with disorderly conduct last Friday afternoon, July 26, after he frightened female employees at a Maple Avenue nonprofit agency so much with threats to punch someone that they locked themselves into a room.
Billy Boy Seal, of 10 East St., allegedly entered the Ocean State Community Resources Center around 3:14 pm and began demanding payment for some work he reportedly performed for the nonprofit at 310 Maple Ave., said Barrington Police Chief John LaCross.
His behavior was described as “loud and aggressive,” said LaCross, and he allegedly refused to leave the building without a check. The nonprofit agency provides services and support for children and adults with developmental and other disabilities.

“The women locked themselves into an occupied room out of fear from this man,” he said.
Police received a call about someone in the lobby of the building saying he would hurt someone if he was not given a check he said was owed to him.

Seal did finally leave the building and drove away. Police began a manhunt with his description.
Seal was picked up by East Providence police at a house on Bullocks Point Avenue. EP patrol officers first checked a house on Oak Avenue where he reportedly lived with another man.
Barrington patrol officers picked up Seal in East Providence and took him to the police station to be charged. He was released with a District Court date to face the charge.
