Man Tasered by Barrington Police While Allegedly Resisting Arrest
Whipple Avenue man faces trespassing and resisting arrest charges.

Barrington police spent quite a bit of time dealing with Whipple Avenue incidents on Sunday, July 28, including making an arrest of a man who was tasered while resisting arrest.
David Silvia, 52, of 19 Whipple Ave., allegedly violated a no-contact order by willfully trespassing on a Barrington woman’s property on Brick Pond Drive, said Barrington Police Chief John LaCross.
Silvia allegedly refused to respond to patrol officers’ requests to cooperate and leave the property. When they attempted to handcuff him while he resisted arrest, LaCross said, he had to be tasered in the upper chest to control him.
