Monday Essentials: Library Hosts Movies, 'Nightlife Orchestra' on Deck

Three movie nights at the Barrington library this week, capped off by another Sunday evening concert in the summer series.

Here are five things you should know about this week, July 29-Aug. 4 in Barrington:

  1. Some showers today will clear out and the rest of this week, July 29-Aug. 4, looks sunny and mostly dry with temperatures getting into the mid-80s every day.
  2. The Summer Reading Club at the Barrington library, "Dig Into READING!" presents a Movie Night today at 630 pm, featuring the film “Journey to the Center of the Earth.”
  3. The Summer Family Film Series: I Love the ‘90s continues in the Barrington library auditorium tomorrow, July 30, at 7 pm with “Holes,” starring Sigourney Weaver, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight and Patricia Arquette.
  4. And on Wednesday at 1 pm, the “Slice of Lemmon” film and lecture series presented by movie buff and librarian Doug Swiszcz closes with “The Odd Couple,” starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.
  5. Barrington's summer concert series continues on Sunday, Aug. 4, at 6 pm with the Nightlife Orchestra making another appearance at Tillinghast Farm on Nayatt Road, the bay-front property owned by the Rhode Island School of Design.
