New Cupcake Lady Baking in Barrington
Sweet Addiction opened three weeks ago in Barrington.

Meet Barrington’s new cupcake lady.
Adrianna Correia, 22, of Johnston, may be Barrington’s youngest entrepreneur. She has opened the Sweet Addiction cake and pastry shop in the spot that used to be the Sweet Shoppe on Waseca Avenue.
Correia is hardly a youngster when it comes to baking cupcakes and pastries.

“I’ve been doing it since I was 14,” she said. “I made my first wedding cake at 15.”
She also has baked cakes for Gregg’s restaurants and cupckes at the City Girl shop in Providence. And she has been a pastry chef at the Café Nuovo restaurant in the capital city and baked and sold cakes out of her house.

Correia holds a baking and pastry degree from Johnson & Wales University. She took over the cupcake shop about three weeks ago. The store shares the building with Wild Flower Florist & Garden Center.
Correia changed the name of the shop to fit her love affair with cupcakes and pastries. But her products are still similar: cupcakes, specialty cakes and brownies and cookies.
The current cupcakes include vanilla, chocolate, cookie dough, cookies & cream, pumpkin, Reese’s cups, chocolate caramel and gluten-free carrot cake.
The shop is open from 11 am to 6 pm Wednesday through Sunday. You will see her food truck around town as well.
