Paid internship program now enrolling with Head Start in Newport

East Bay Community Action Program’s (EBCAP) Head Start Program is seeking applicants for a paid, 9-week Early Childhood Education Internship that will prepare individuals for a career in Early Childhood Education. Participants will complete their internship at EBCAP’s Newport location.

EBCAP’s Head Start internship includes in-person/virtual training, classroom observation and instruction, working with children in a classroom setting, one-on-one coaching, and more. Upon completion, candidates will have a portfolio to document their training and classroom hours and will be encouraged to apply for entry-level employment in an EBCAP Head Start, Early Head Start, or Pre-K classroom. After completing the program, successful candidates can be hired to continue training and gaining experience in our classrooms. With this experience, they will have a training portfolio that supports the application for a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential,” said Linda Laliberte, VP of EBCAP’s Head Start and Early Head Start.
