Play Mens' Basketball, Co-Ed Badminton at Middle School

Here are a few things to know about today, Jan. 23, in and around Barrington:

• Partly cloudy and continue cold with a high temperature of around 20 degrees.
• The Barrington Recreation Department hosts an Open Gym Men’s Basketball drop-in program each Thursday at the Barrington Middle School. Men 18 and older are invited to play from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.   
• A co-ed badminton league follows the open gym basketball program each Thursday at 7:30 pm at Barrington Middle School. It, too, is sponsored by the Recreation Department. Bring your own racket if you have one; a limited number of rackets will be on hand. 
• The boys’ basketball team at Barrington High School hosts Lincoln High at 7 pm. 
• The girls’ indoor track team at Barrington High School battles Toll Gate High at the Providence Career and Technical Academy at 5:30 pm. 
• The Barrington School Committee meets at 7:30 pm in the School Committee Meeting Rom in Town Hall.
• The Barrington Parks and Recreation Commission meets at 7 pm in the Senior Center in the lower level of the library building.
