Rhode Island DOT: Drunk Driving 'Path To The Dark Side'

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation had a special message for drivers on Star Wars Day.

Drink and drive, you should not. That was the message from the Rhode Island Department of Transportation Friday during Star Wars Day. Officials broadcast this message on an electronic traffic billboard in Cranston: "Drunk driving is the path to the dark side."

"Don't be tempted to drive impaired — stay on target and have a plan for a safe ride home, always," the department added in a tweet.

Star Wars Day is a relatively new phenomenon held each year on May 4 — as in "May the fourth be with you."
