Snowstorm on Way; Library Reopens; View Rare Books

Here are a few things to know about today in and around Barrington:

  • There is the strong possibility of a Nor’easter dropping anywhere from 6 inches to a foot of snow on the region with temperatures reaching up into the 20s before dipping into the teens tonight.
  • The Barrington Public Library reopens with its regular hours, 9 am to 9 pm.
  • The first session of East Bay Contra Dance for 2014 starts at 7:30 pm at 790 Main St. in Warren.
  • The Friends of the Barrington Public Library always offer a few very special books for purchase directly from the library's book sorting room. Call the Reference Department at 401-247-1920 ext 2, and a Friends member will contact you to schedule an appointment to view the books.
  • Call the Barrington library ahead of time if you are attending an event or meeting there. Work on replacing the elevator has started, which makes the second floor inaccessible except by the stairwell. The number is 401-247-1920.
