These Are The Best School Districts In Rhode Island, New Ranking Says

Two Rhode Island public school districts received A+ grades in Niche's latest rankings.

RHODE ISLAND — Barrington Public Schools has been ranked as the best in Rhode Island in Niche’s 2024 Best Schools and Districts rankings, released this week.

The Barrington public school district was among 22 Rhode Island school districts included in Niche’s ranking of 12,192 school districts nationwide. The list included 364 newly ranked school districts.

Niche gave Barrington Public Schools a letter grade of A+. Grades in specific categories were:

Academics: A+
Teachers: A
Clubs and activities: A
Sports: A-
Resources and facilities: B+
Diversity: C
College prep: A+
Administration: A-
Food: B-

The school district, which has 3,377 students in seven buildings, received high marks from students, parents, and teachers.

"I would say that Barrington Public School system is an excellent school system," one student review said. "There are friendly staff, and teachers at the school, and everyone at the school gets along well."

Barrington High School was ranked by Niche as the best public high school in Rhode Island. See the rest of Rhode Island's top 25 public high schools.

The rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that they also include input from students, alumni, and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources, and facilities.
