Thief Hits Nine Unlocked Cars in Four Days in Barrington
GPS systems, watches, sunglasses, iPod among items reported stolen from unlocked cars parked all over town.

Eight larcenies or attempted larcenies from unlocked vehicles were reported to the Barrington police last week over four days.
The first report came from a Sowams Road man on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at about 3:30 am. His barking dog awakened him and probably scared off the thief, who pawed through the glove box and consoles of two vehicles parked in his driveway. Nothing was reported stolen.Â
A Dana Road man made the second report about 9:24 am on Wednesday. A GPS system valued at about $200 was reported stolen.

The third report came on Thursday, Aug. 8, at about 8 am. A Lee Ann Drive man reported that a GPS, several watches and a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses were swiped from two vehicles parked in the driveway.
Four more reports came in almost back to back on Friday morning, Aug. 9.

A Roffee Street man reported at 9:17 am that an iPod and charger worth about $250 were stolen from a car parked on the street.Â
A Howard Street woman reported at 10 am that a GPS was stolen from her daughter’s car. It was valued at $200.
Two Winsor Drive residents reported at 10:30 am and 1:35 pm, respectively that a small amount of cash and loose change was taken from their vehicles sometime overnight.
Then on Saturday morning, Aug. 10, a Nayatt Road man reported that his unlocked vehicle had been entered overnight. Nothing was reported stolen.
