Threat of Violence Made At Barrington High School: Superintendent

School officials asked all residents who own guns to physically account for them and ensure they are stored in a safe and secure manner.

BARRINGTON, RI — School officials say they are investigating a threat of violence made at Barrington High School.

Superintendent Michael Messore in a letter to parents said on Monday, the administration became aware of the threat to take place sometime next week.

"The school immediately began working with the Barrington Police Department to investigate," Messore said. "While that investigation is underway, we ask that parents speak to and actively listen to their children who may have knowledge of the matter. As a note, it is best to err on the side of caution by making us aware of any information, regardless of how insignificant it may seem."
