Two Barrington Men Charged With Disorderly Conduct

Barrington police arrest 53-year-old and 18-year-old after altercations with family members.

Two Barrington men were charged on Sunday, Aug. 4, with domestic disorderly conduct after altercations with family members. 

Preston H. Wright, 53, of 80 Maple Ave., and Matthew N. Achorn, 18, of 80 Bay Road, were arrested about six hours apart after incidents that involved an item smashed on the floor and a broken window.

Wright allegedly broke a window to get inside his wife’s house about 4:39 pm. He reportedly had been drinking, according to the arrest report. She told police she was concerned about two children inside the house with her.

Wright was charged with domestic simple assault and battery as well as disorderly conduct. He was arraigned by a justice of the peace at the police station and given a date to appear in District Court to face the charges.

Achorn’s mother asked police to remove her son from the house and serve him with a no-contact order about 10:30 am.

He appeared very agitated and smashed something on the floor after a police officer arrived, according to the police report. He initially refused to comply with an order to leave the house. 

Achorn also was given a trespass warning by police. He was told he would be arrested if he returned to the house. He was given a date to appear in District Court to face the disorderly conduct charge
