2-Car Crash Closes Mt. Hope Bridge In Bristol For Over An Hour, Injures 2
Both vehicles suffered extensive damage, and one car ended up with its back tires on top of a bridge guardrail.

BRISTOL, RI ā A crash on Mt. Hope Bridge in Bristol Wednesday morning injured two people and temporarily closed the bridge to traffic for over an hour, according to police.
Bristol police said the two-crash happened around 6 a.m. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage, and one car ended up with its back tires on top of a guardrail.
Portsmouth fire officials, who helped respond to the crash, said two people were taken to local hospitals with injuries.

Traffic was detoured away from the bridge while emergency crews cleared the scene. Police said the bridge reopened around 7:15 a.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
