2-Day Closure Coming To Hope Street For Tree Removal

The road will be closed from Franklin Street to State Street from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 26 and 27.

Northbound traffic will be detoured to State Street, then High Street to Franklin Street. Southbound traffic will be sent to Franklin Street, then Thames Street to State Street.

BRISTOL, RI — Part of Hope Street will close Monday and Tuesday to allow crews to remove two trees. The closure will be in place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., between Franklin Street and State Street.

The two trees are large and deteriorated, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation said.

Street parking will be restricted while work is underway, though pedestrian traffic will be open to allow access to local businesses. Northbound traffic will be detoured to State Street, then High Street to Franklin Street. Southbound traffic will be sent to Franklin Street, then Thames Street to State Street.

While National Grid will be on site to help with the removal process, no power outages are anticipated, RIDOT said.
