Bristol Police Log: Domestic Assault, Vandalism, Underage Drinking

The Bristol Police Department reported the following recent arrests and incidents:

Arrested:

• Derick A. Burke, of 15 Lugent Lane, on charges of felony domestic assault, domestic vandalism, and domestic assault by strangulation, on Jan. 28 at about 3 pm. According to police reports, Burke's brother called headquarters to report that Burke had assaulted him. Rescue personnel transported the man to Newport Hospital for treatment. Burke posted bail at his arraignment in Sixth District Court, and is scheduled for his next court hearing on March 25.
• Michael J. Patton, of 17 Third St., on a charge of vandalism, on Jan. 29 at about 10 am. Patton pleaded not guilty at his arraignment, and is scheduled to appear at trial on Feb. 11.
• Jake C. Kearney, of 228 Myrtle St., Duxbury, MA, of furnishing alcohol to a minor, on Feb. 2 at about 1 am at 324 State St. Officers also arrested Tobey Britton, of 6 Lawson Road, Scituate, MA, on a similar charge, and four Massachusetts juveniles for underage possession and consumption of alcohol.
• Bruce Silvia, of 241 Wood St., on charges of domestic simple assault and refusal to relinquish a telephone, on Feb. 2 at about 4:45 am. Silvia had been serving six month's probation following his Aug. 8, 2012, no-contest plea to a charge of disorderly conduct brought by Bristol Police.
• Kyle Mitchell, of 22 Richmond St., on a charge of domestic simple assault, on Feb. 3 at about 12:20 am, following a reported fight. Officers transported Mitchell to the Adult Correctional Institutions, Cranston.
• John N. Davis, of 631 Hope St., on Feb. 3 at about 2 am on a bench warrant issued by Sixth District Court for failing to appear at a Jan. 30 arraignment on a charge of driving with a suspended license brought by Bristol Police.
• Lauren Gaglio, of 50 River St., on a charge of domestic simple assault, after she turned herself in at the police department on Feb. 3 at 9:40 am.

Other reports:

• On Jan. 28 at about 4:30 pm, an officer responded to a location on Lindberg Avenue in response to a weapons complaint. The officer found ammunition at the site.
• Officers responded to a car accident with injuries on Broadcommon Road on Jan. 28 just after 5 pm. One of the drivers was transported via rescue to Hasbro Children's Hospital, in Providence, and the officer notified the driver's parents.
• A propane tank was reported stolen from Berry Plastics on Ballou Boulevard on Jan. 31 at about 1 pm.
• Officers responded to Hope Street and State Street on Feb. 1 at about 12:30 am for a noise complaint. The Roger Williams University shuttle picked up the people found at the location.
• An off-duty Warren Police officer reported finding two needles and syringes behind Pizza Wave on Metacom Avenue on Feb. 1 at about 8:15 pm. A Bristol officer responded to the scene and collected the items.
• Bristol Police cited four men for violating town noise ordinances on Feb. 2 at about 11:15 pm following a complaint of a house party on Cottage Street. According to police reports, the noice coming from the house measure 60.1 dB. Stephen Matt, of Jefferson, MA; Andrew Jaroszewski and Timothy Roland Jr., both of West Hartford, CT; and Joseph Betancourt of Avon, CT, were issued citations.
• A resident of Varnum Street reported on Feb. 3 at about 7 am that a vehicle had apparenty hit his mailbox and left the scene. Parts of the car were left behind at the scene, according to police reports.
• An officer euthanized a possibly rabid raccoon at a residence on Bay View Avenue on Feb. 3 at about 1 pm.
