Bristol Police Log: DUI, Youth Fight, Loose Horse

The Bristol Police Department reported the following recent arrests and incidents:

Arrested:

• Patrick Greichen, of Waterbury, CT, on a charge of violating a restraining order on March 7 at about 6 pm. He is due for formal arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick, on March 20.
• Timothy McCarthy, of 197 Whittier Ave., Providence, on charges of DUI and refusal to submit to a breath test, on March 8 at about 1:30 am on Hope Street. He is due for formal arraignment in Sixth District Court today.
• Robert Cairrao, of 1013 Hope St., on a warrant issued by Sixth District Court, Warwick, for failure to appear at a payment review hearing on felony drug possession charges. Cairrao pleaded no contest to the charges in November, 2011, and is serving a three-year suspended sentence with three years' probation. According to online court records, Cairrao paid the remaining balance he owed to the court.

Other reports:

• Officers responded to the Mount Hope Bridge for a report of a male hitchhiking in the area on March 14 at about 10:45 am. They could not find the subject.
• Portsmouth Police reported getting a call about an unattended vehicle on the Mount Hope Bridge on March 6 at about 10:30 am. Officers from that town later told Bristol officers that they did not find the vehicle.
• The Bristol animal control officer returned a white Terrier to its owner on March 6 at about 4 pm.
• A caller told police on March 7 at about 6 am that she had found the doors to St. Mary's Church open. Officers responded to the church and secured the building. A note in the police log suggests the wind may have blown the doors open.
• Officers responded to a report of a fight among six juveniles on March 8 at about 3 pm at State and Rock Streets. Five of the youth apparently "beat up on" the sixth, according to police reports.
• A caller near Colt State Park reported a horse roaming near the entrance of the park with no rider. Officers found the rider, who was uninjured. A second caller reported seeing the horse on Dimond Avenue; officers found the horse a short time later and returned it to its owner.
