Call for Art: ARTiculate
Drawings, paintings, printing making, collage, fiber arts or photography only are accepted for this exhibit and must be 18 inches by 24 inch

BRISTOL, Rhode Island - The Bristol Art Museum and Rogers Free Library announce a call for art for a new juried, community exhibit that invites artists to express an emotion, experience, or an idea. Chosen pieces will be featured in ARTiculate, a joint exhibit in the Community Galleries in the Rogers Free Library from Tues., Aug. 8 through Thurs., Sept. 28. Artist Mark Wholey will serve as juror for the exhibit.
“Art, like literature, is often used as a way to call attention to an issue or subject,” said Vicky McGrath, Bristol Art Museum Board Member. “Artists often use their medium to expose private and public experiences, to express a point of view, or to share an emotion or feeling.”
All artwork must be submitted on the Bristol Art Museum website by Mon., July 24. Artists whose work is selected will be notified by email no later than Sat., July 29. Intake of accepted works will be accepted at the Rogers Free Library, lower level, Wed., Aug. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. and Thurs., Aug. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Drawings, paintings, printing making, collage, fiber arts or photography only are accepted for this exhibit and must be 18 inches by 24 inches or smaller. All works must be original and artists are welcome to make their works available for sale. No commissions will be taken by the Museum.
Mark Wholey graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute and studied design at Butera School of Art in Boston. He primarily works in painting and sculpture. Wholey has exhibited domestically in California, Florida, Rhode Island and internationally in Florence and Padova, Italy. A first-place recognition recipient of the Providence Art Club, Color exhibition, Wholey was granted a Sobel Memorial Scholarship and Jeffries Prize for drawing.
