Car Catches Fire At Auto Repair Shop In Bristol
"Thank you, Bristol Fire Department, for saving my building," Tire MD Owner Steve Martins said after a car caught fire in his parking lot.
BRISTOL, RI ā A car caught fire at an auto repair shop in Bristol on Monday night.
Firefighters were called to Tire MD on Metacom Avenue around 8:30 p.m. for a report of a parked car engulfed in flames.
"Thank you, Bristol Fire Department, for saving my building," Tire MD Owner Steve Martins said in a Facebook post. "And thank God this didn't happen in my customer's garage."

Martins said his customer dropped off her vehicle around 8 p.m. that night because the car's battery light was on. He said it appeared the alternator shorted, causing an electrical fire.
No injuries were reported. Martins said his building did not sustain any damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
