Construction Resumes On Bristol's Metacom Ave. Next Week

The Bristol County Water Authority will restart road work along the southern section of the road starting April 4.

BRISTOL, RI — Head's up drivers, road work is coming back to Bristol's Metacom Avenue next week. Starting April 4, the Bristol County Water Authority will be working on the southern section of the road.

Work is scheduled to continue through April 14, from Gooding Avenue to Robin Drive. During that time, crews will repave the cross trenches and the Gooding Avenue intersection.

Starting April 13, work will resume in the northern section, from Michael Drive to Fatima Drive. This construction is scheduled to continue through May 27 and will include water main work on the main road and connecting to side streets.

During work hours — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. — alternating lanes will be open to drivers, who are asked to avoid the area if possible. Two lanes will be open during off-hours.
