Create a Scrapbook at 'Crop' in Warren
Former St. Jean Baptiste parish to host first monthly scrapbooking 'crop' on Saturday, Jan. 18.

The first ācropā of what are expected to be monthly scrapbooking crops takes place Saturday, Jan. 18, at the former St. Jean Baptiste parish in Warren.
June Sousa, a former events coordinator for Michaelās crafts store in Seekonk, Mass., is organizing the session. It runs from 10 am to 4 pm at 324 Main St.
āCropā is the term used for these community sessions, which involve a great deal of cropping and trimming of photos, Sousa said. It will bring together people of all ages and talents to build a scrapbook.Ā

āItās a special album with photos, papers, journaling and other embellishments,ā she said. āIt can be very enlightening. And itās a good thing to hand down to family members.ā
Sousa will offer some advice for novice scrapbook makers. But a ācropā is really a place for people who "never seem to have the time to get their pages done," she said.Ā

āYouāll meet other creative people, share ideas, and have a fun time,ā Sousa said. āJust bring your own photos.ā
There will be raffles every hour, and lunch and drinks will be served. There is aĀ $20 fee, with all of the proceeds after the cost of materials and refreshmentsĀ going to the St. Mary of the Bay parish. ItĀ includes congregations at St. Mary of the Bay and St. Jean Baptiste.
