Former Bristol Man, Killed in Portsmouth Crash, To Be Remembered Wednesday

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember the late Elia "Lee" J. Giusti this Wednesday and Thursday. 

Giusti, 79, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, died on June 12, 2013 after in Portsmouth. 

The Florida resident was driving on Bristol Ferry Road on June 12, when the 2005 Lexus he was operating was struck by a Ford F-150. The driver of the crash has since been charged with . 

Giusti is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Anne Marie (Berube); three children: Lee-Anne Giusti of Boston, Paul Giusti of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Elaina Lucas of Barrington, RI; and four grandchildren.

Born in Bristol, RI, he was the son of Elia and Concetta (Santulli) Giusti and brother of the late Carola Russo and Dr. Salvatore Giusti.

An Army veteran, he retired as lt. colonel. He owned homes in Florida and Rhode Island.

He graduated from the New England School of Anatomy and the University of Rhode Island. Thereafter, he embarked on a career as a real estate entrepreneur.

He was an avid golfer who lived in joy and brought laughter to everyone he knew. 

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Ave., Riverside, RI.

The funeral procession will begin Thursday, June 20, at 9 a.m. at Smith-Mason Funeral Home. His Mass will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol, RI.

Burial with military honors will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol, RI.
