Interim Bristol-Warren Superintendent Abruptly Resigns
Bob Hicks took the position over the summer, following the resignation of former Superintendent Jonathan Brice.
BRISTOL-WARREN, RI ā The Bristol-Warren school district is once again without a leader. On Wednesday, Interim Superintendent Bob Hicks abruptly stepped down, leaving the position vacant for the second time in just a few months.
In a letter to the community, the school district said Hicks "has resigned from the position of interim Superintendent," and that the school committee was searching for a permanent replacement. No reason was given for Hicks' departure.
In the meantime, Assistant Superintendent Diane Sanna will serve as the district leader.

Hicks was named interim superintendent in late July, East Bay Rhode Island reported. His appointment came just a week after former Superintendent Jonathan Brice stepped down. Brice announced his resignation following a controversy surrounding the first day of school in the district, which was delayed due to the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah.
