Man Arrested Twice on Domestic Charges, DUIs, Just Fishing

The following information was provided by the Warren Police Department. Where an arrest is noted, it does not indicate a conviction.

The Warren Police Department reported the following recent arrests and incidents:

  • Charles McCarten, 49, of 15 Cutler St., on a charge of driving with a suspended license, on Mach 18 at 7:05 pm, following a stop at Child and Handy Streets.
  • Joseph Araujo, 23, of 21 Wood St., Bristol, on charges of domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct, on March 19 at about 7 pm.
  • Emmanuel Mendonca, 32, of 18 Norbert St., on two counts of violating no-contact orders and drug possession, on March 20 at about 4:30 pm. Officers arrested Mendonca again on charges of domestic assault; domestic disorderly conduct; and refusal to relinquish a telephone on March 21 at 7:15 am. Police reports note that officers transported Mendonca to District Court for a hearing; the Rhode Island Judiciary website was unavailable at the time this article was posted.
  • [Name removed] of Mashpee, MA, on charges of DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test, following a stop at Miller Street and Narragansett Way, on March 22 at about 1:30 am.
  • Dalayna Cunha, 24, of 374 Russell Mills Road, South Dartmouth, MA, on a charge of driving with a suspended license, following a stop on Market Street on March 22 at 1:15 pm.
  • Anthony Lapomardo, 32, of 114 Partridge Hill Road, Charlton, MA, on charges of DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test, following a stop at Main and Bradford Streets, on March 23 at about 1 am. His vehicle was towed from the scene, according to police reports.
  • Robert Medeiros, 65, of 673 Metacom Ave., Bristol, on charges of DUI, second offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, following a stop at Metacom Avenue and Bee Jay Court, on March 23 at about 3 am.
  • Jennifer Cygawnoski, 32, of 136 Main St., on a warrant issued by Sixth District Court, Warwick, on March 23 at about 8:30 am. Officers transported her to the ACI Women's Intake unit.
  • Joshua Rossi, 45, of 45 Metacomet Ave., Swansea, MA, on an arrest warrant after Swansea Police brought him to the local police station on March 24 at about 11:15 am.

Other reports:

  • Officers responded to Metacom Avenue on March 18 at 12:50 pm to investigate a report of stolen transmission cores, apparently taken over the previous weekend.
  • A resident of Long Lane and a mail carrier who works in the area reported damage to several mailboxes in the neighborhood.
  • Barrington Police responded to Child Street and Orchard Avenue on March 21 at 2:10 am for a report of a suspicious person. They notified local officers that the person was fishing.
  • In responding to a call of suspicious vehicles parked next to each other on Water Street on March 23 at 8 pm, officers found that the occupants were exchanging photos.
