Monday Essentials: String Project, State Poet, Steak Fry

There's plenty on the schedule this week in Bristol and Warren — check out these great events:

Monday: Franklin Court Assisted Living in Bristol kicks off National Assisted Living Week with an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. It's a great chance to see the facilities and consider your needs.

Also on Monday, The Community String Project is taking registrations for fall classes at Hugh Cole School School starting at 6 p.m. Click the link for more information.

Tuesday: Rick Benjamin, State Poet of Rhode Island, visits Roger Williams University at 4:30 p.m. for the latest RWU Talk in the Library. Hear Benjamin's thoughts on Rhode Island's literary tradition and history.

Wednesday: Rogers Free Library hosts a free showing of "Mud" starring Matthew McConaghey starting at 7 p.m. PG-13.

Thursday: The Community String Project is taking registrations for fall classes at Mt. Hope High School starting at 6 p.m.

Friday: Or maybe it should be "Fry-day," in honor of the Steak Fry and Pie Baking Contest planned at Mt. Hope Farm starting at 6. Adults and kids menus available. $100 cash prize for first place pie. $10 entry fee for two pies.

Also Friday night, Linden Place hosts the Rare Disease United Foundation for its 2nd Annual "Care for Rare" Silent Auction featuring a performance by the Adam Ezra Group. Online tickets available for $50.
