Planet Fitness Opens New Gyms In Warren And Lincoln

Franchise owner CDM invests more than $5 million for the two clubs to be remodeled by Spring 2024.

WARREN, RI — CDM Fitness Holdings, one of the largest franchise operators of Planet Fitness clubs, has acquired two gyms from Maxx Fitness Clubzz in Rhode Island.

The new Planet Fitness gyms in Warren and Lincoln are now open, a company spokesperson said Tuesday.

The Planet Fitness location in Warren is approximately 20,000 square feet and is located at 601 Metacom Ave. The Lincoln location is approximately 15,500 square feet and is located at 622 George Washington Highway. A CDM spokesperson said the company will make an investment of more than $5 million for two full club remodels to be completed in Spring 2024.

"As the largest health club provider in New England, CDM is grateful for this opportunity to expand in Rhode Island and to bring more affordable access to fitness to Warren and Lincoln," CDM Chief Executive Bruce Edwards said. "We are actively seeking additional 15,000 to 20,000 square foot spaces in the community to continue our growth. We’re excited to open these two locations under the Planet Fitness brand."

The new Planet Fitness gyms are open and staffed from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.
