See 2024's Most Borrowed Books From The Library In Bristol

BRISTOL, RI ā With 2024 over, it's time to reflect on the year. You've probably already seen some lists for the top books of the year. Patch however is offering its own local twist on the end of the year tradition because honestly, who knows you better than your neighbors?
We reached out to the Rogers Free Library in Bristol and found out what people were borrowing to read in 2024. Library Director Eileen Dyer said most of the top titles of the year came from the Rogers Free Library Book Club, which is led by Susan Tacent. Check out the lists for the top books below:

- "Flight Behavior" by Barbara Kingsolver
- "The Resisters" by Gish Jen
- "An Immense World" by Ed Yong
- "The Magician's Elephant" by Kate DiCamillo
- "Packing for Mars" by Mary Roach
- "Tom Lake" by Ann Patchett
- "The Frozen River" by Ariel Lawhon
- "Demon Copperhead" by Barbara Kingsolver.
Most Borrowed New Releases
- "The Women" by Kristin Hannah
- "Long Island" by Colm Toibin
- "First Lie Wins" by Ashley Elston
- "Swan Song" by Elin Hilderbrand
- "The Hunter" by Tana French
- "Sandwich" by Catherine Newman
- "The Housemaid is Watching" by Frieda McFadden

And here are the top 10 most borrowed books from all Rhode Island libraries and how many times they were checked out, according to Ocean State Libraries:
