Sign Up to be Library Friend; Take in Some Mt. Hope Sports Action

Here are a few things to know about today, Jan. 17, in and around Bristol and Warren:

• Mostly sunny with some clouds and a high temperature near 45 degrees.
• George Hail Library in Warren is looking for a few good friends who will help to defray the cost of programs, materials and equipment and volunteer for fundraising and other activities. Get a membership application at the library, 530 Main Street, or call 245-7686. Yearly dues are $5 to $10.
• The girls’ swimming team at Mt. Hope High School travels to McDermott Pool in Warwick for a meet against Warwick Veterans High at 5:30 pm. 
• The Mt. Hope High School girls’ basketball team travels to Tiverton High School for a game at 7 pm. 
• The Mt. Hope High School boys’ ice hockey team travels to Adelard Arena in Woonsocket to tangle with the squad from Cumberland High at 7:30 pm. 
• The Mt. Hope High School girls’ indoor track team goes on the road to Yale University in New Haven for the two-day Yale Classic. Click here for the schedule of events.
