Warren Evacuation Route Closing For 4 Months For Construction
State officials said the closure will be in effect for four months, while crews replace old drainage pipes under the road.

WARREN, RI ā Beginning Thursday, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation will temporarily close Schoolhouse Road, over the Warren Reservoir, from Serpentine Road to Kinnicutt Avenue.
State officials said the closure will be in effect for four months, while crews replace old drainage pipes under the road with culverts. Since Schoolhouse Road is an evacuation route for Warren, officials said the new culverts will ensure the road stays open.
There will be a detour on both Serpentine Road and Kinnicutt Avenue to Child Street.

The work is also part of improvements at Birch Swamp Road, as well as Schoolhouse Road. Construction includes road resurfacing, new stripes and signs. Depending on weather, the project is expected to be completed on time and within budget by Spring 2023.
