Warren Police Log: High-Speed Chase, Bomb Threat, Domestic Charges

The Warren Police Department reported the following recent arrests and incidents:

Arrested:

• Jereme Beller, 31, of 3 Oak St., on a charge of larceny under $500; high speed pursuit, first offense; and trespassing, following a report of a suspicious vehicle on Schoolhouse and Serpentine Roads on Feb. 18 at about 9:40 am. According to police reports, Beller fled the scene on foot prior to his arrest. He is scheduled for a pre-trial conference in Sixth District Court, Warwick, on March 15.
• Mark Wyatt Jr., of 121 Homeland Ave., Warwick, on a charge of driving with a suspended license, following a traffic stop on Market Street at Palmer Avenue, on Feb. 18 at 4:20 pm. He is scheduled for formal arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick, on March 1.
• Michael Collins, 33, of 237 Market St., on a charge of making a bomb threat on Feb. 19 at about 8:30 am. Police received a call from a business located on Metacom Avenue reporting the threat. Officers also notified the Rhode Island Bomb Squad for further investigation. At his Feb. 20 arraignment in Sixth District Court, Collins was ordered held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions, Cranston, for violating terms of bail set on a vandalism charge from March, 2012. Judge Walter Gorman sentenced Collins to 30 days in prison, with 11 months suspended and 11 months' probation, in a separate hearing on the bail violation. Collins is next due for a court hearing on Apr. 24.
• Edward Walker, 54, of 17 Julian Ave., East Providence, on charges of domestic felony assault; violation of a no-contact order, third offense; and domestic disorderly conduct, on Feb. 19 at about 5:30 pm. Walker had been serving separate terms in three prior cases; Judge Walter Gorman sentenced Walker to 90 days in prison for violating terms of a suspended sentence imposed in October, 2012, after he pleaded no contest to violating a no-contact order. In a separate case, Gorman ordered Collins held without bail at the ACI on a disorderly conduct charge brought in December, 2012. He is due for a felony hearing on the new charges on Apr. 24.
• Thomas Kiley, 37, of 8 Prudence Lane, on a charge of driving with a suspended license, following a stop on Main Street on Feb. 20 at about 7:45 p.m.
• Michael Simoes, 24, of 71 Varnum St., Bristol, on charges of DUI, second offense; possession of marijuana, first offense; driving in possession of controlled substances; and refusal to submit to a chemical test, following a traffic stop on Metacom Avenue at Bee Jay Court on Feb. 22 at about 1:30 am. He is scheduled for formal arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick, on March 1.
• Eric King, 37, of 2 Dean Ave., Newport, on a bench warrant issued by Sixth District Court, on Feb. 23 at about 1:30 am.
• Michael Jodoin, 29, of 22 Paull St., Bristol, on a charge of driving with a suspended license, following a motor vehicle stop at Metacom and Homestead Avenues on Feb. 23 at about 2 am.
• Charles Vincent, 63, of 74 Perry St., Bristol, on charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct, following a report of a disturbance on Water Street on Feb. 23 at about 5:30 pm.
• David Tupaj, 50, of unspecified address, on a charge of assault on Feb. 25 at about 6:30 am. He is scheduled for a status conference in Sixth District Court on March 11.

Incidents:

A local resident reported to police headquarters on Feb. 22 at about 5:45 am and told officers that the brake lines on his truck had apparently been cut.

Officers went to Subway restaurant on Main Street on Feb. 11 at about 2:15 pm in response to a report of a patron leaving without paying. The woman was located, and she made a partial payment. Staff at the Subway requested a no-trespass order to be issued, and officers brought the woman back to her home.

A caller reported on Feb. 22 at about 7:30 pm that a fuel tank had apprently been stolen from a boat on the Warren River.
