PHOTOS: RISPCA Rescues 46 Cats And 4 Dogs From Central Falls Home
The animals were to receive veterinary care Tuesday, the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said.

CENTRAL FALLS, RI — The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said it rescued 46 cats and kittens and four dogs from a Central Falls home Monday.

The dozens of dogs, cats and kittens were living in a two-bedroom apartment on Central Street.
"The animals are now all safe with food and water," Stephanie Van Patten, the director of community engagement for the Rhode Island SPCA, said in an email.

"They will also be seen by our veterinarian to receive essential vaccines and preventatives," Van Patten said.

"They will all need to be spayed and neutered," she said. "Then they will be available for adoption."

Van Patten invited anyone interested in supporting the care of the dogs, cats and kittens to visit the Rhode Island SPCA website to make a monetary donation or purchase items from its wish lists.
