Davis-Tennon Foundation Donates New Clothing and Essentials to McAuley Ministries' Warde-robe
Items distributed to local residents at no cost or sold through The Warde-robe to help fund operations

The Davis-Tennon Foundation, founded by award-winning actors and advocates Viola Davis and Julius Tennon, has made another meaningful contribution to the Central Falls community—donating a large box filled with brand-new clothing, shoes, and undergarments to McAuley Ministries’ Warde-robe. All items arrived new with tags, including shapewear, shoes, socks, and a variety of high-quality apparel.
Everything will be distributed to local residents at no cost or sold through The Warde-robe to help fund operations. The shapewear, in particular, is especially valuable to guests who often cannot afford such items.
“We are grateful for Ms. Davis’ and the Foundation’s unwavering support of the Central Falls community,” said Catherine Nassa, Director of Development and Communications for McAuley Ministries. “These are the types of items that those we serve are in constant need of. This donation will make a difference—whether it’s worn directly by someone in need or helps sustain our programs through resale.”

Among the donated pieces was a designer dress with a price tag of $648—currently listed online for over $1,000. With permission from the Davis-Tennon Foundation, McAuley Ministries will include the dress in the silent auction at their upcoming 50th Anniversary Luncheon, with the item credited as a gift from Ms. Davis.
The Davis-Tennon Foundation’s gift to The Warde-robe is part of its broader mission to meet basic human needs and connect Rhode Island families to the resources they need to thrive. Founded in 2024, the Foundation focuses on four pillars: empowering women, preventing domestic violence, expanding opportunities for youth beyond the classroom, and supporting housing stability.
