2 Coventry Firefighters Injured In A Hit-And-Run Crash
As the firefighters got out of their truck to respond to an emergency, a car slammed into the side of the vehicle, injuring two.
COVENTRY, RI — Two firefighters were injured in a hit-and-run crash in Coventry on Wednesday night, according to fire officials.
According to fire officials, the first responders were responding to a medical call on Victory Highway around 9 p.m. when the crash happened. As the firefighters got out of their truck, a car slammed into the side of the vehicle, injuring two, including one first responder who suffered serious injuries.
Fire officials said one firefighter was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, while the other was taken to Kent County Hospital in Warwick to get checked out.
