Allegiant, Southwest, American Resume Flights To T.F. Green

WARWICK, RI — Several airlines will resume service from T.F. Green Airport, the Rhode Island Airport Corporation announced. Several routes were temporarily suspended earlier this year after travel demand dropped sharply during the coronavirus pandemic.

As of Thursday, American Airlines began offering service to Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. The once-per-day direct flights start at $129 one way or $176 round trip. Southwest brought back flights to the same airport, starting at $49 each way, twice per day.

On Friday, Allegiant Airlines resumed twice per week service to Cincinnati, Ohio, on Mondays and Fridays, starting at $30 each way.

"We’re pleased to see what we expect to be a slow but steady return of service to and from Rhode Island, providing additional options for travel and connecting service to numerous destinations," said RIAC President Iftikhar Ahmad. "It will be many years before we see a return to 2019 passenger levels, but we appreciate the continued efforts of our airline partners to provide safe travel options, as well as the positive attitude of passengers who are taking their own steps to keep themselves and their fellow travelers safe and healthy."

The organization also announced that the Federal Aviation Administration will provide 182,000 face masks for travelers and employees at T.F. Green and other airports in the state, including Block Island State Airport, Newport State Airport, North Central State Airport, Quonset State Airport and Westerly State Airport.
