Bay View Academy Middle School Student Selected as One of Nation's Best Athletes

St. Mary Academy - Bay View middle school student, Sarah Trosin ‘23 (Coventry) has been selected to represent the Northeast - Region 1 at the USA Softball All American Games 12u Division at the Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, OK from August 18-20, 2017. The event brings together 360 of the nation’s best softball players who have also been identified as future college softball players or USA Olympic athletes. According to the USA Softball All American Games, “This event will provide National exposure to elite athletes in the 12u age division and has been designed to identify and highlight the best athletes from across the country.” The organization further explains that “designation to a USA Softball All-American team is the highest honor a player can receive and instantly brands the player as one of the top athletes in the United States.”

Sarah, a member of the Bay View Academy Middle School softball team, attended two tryouts with players from all over New England and is one of thirty athletes selected to represent the Northeast - Region 1. She is continuing to play in tournaments throughout the summer with her travel team, the 12u RI Rebels who recently participated in the Grafton Tournament on June 10th and 11th. The team was 6-0 on the weekend and won the Championship Game 8-0 against the Mass Drifters.
