Cat Lounge Opening In Coventry This Month

COVENTRY, RI — Rhode Island will get a second cat lounge for animal lovers to visit and play with the feline friends.

Mad Cats and More, located at 749 Tiogue Ave., is slated to open Saturday. On the lounge's Facebook page, the company describes itself as "a family owned and operated business that absolutely loves cats."

The lounge features bridges, tunnels, toys, and more for the cats to enjoy while guests give them their attention and affection. The cost to visit is $20 to play with the cats for an hour and $10 for a 30-minute session. There will also be merchandise available for sale.

"Come buy a t-shirt, handmade collars and leashes, survival bracelets, keychains and more," the company said on its Facebook page. "Or relax in our cat lounge with our two Maine Coon kitties, Zeus and Athena. Hopefully soon to partner with a rescue to get cats out of cages and up for adoption."

Rhode Island's only other cat lounge is in Tiverton, Bajah’s Cat Café.
