CCFD Capt. Hall Passes Away From Occupational Cancer
Captain William Hall served the Central Coventry Fire District for 22 years.

It with the deepest sorrow that The Central Coventry Fire District announces the passing of Captain William Hall. The Central Coventry Fire Department says Captain William Hall has passed from occupational cancer that was contracted in the Line of Duty.
Captain Hall served the department for 22 years, beginning his career in the Washington (Coventry) Fire District on May 4, 1992. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1999 with the Washington Fire District and following the merger of four fire districts in Coventry in 2006, he was promoted to Captain with the Central Coventry Fire District in May of 2009. He will be posthumously promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief.

He was awarded several department commendations, served as a founding member and lead investigator of the Coventry Arson Task Force, he was the founding officer and coordinator of the Coventry Emergency Response Team (CERT), and also was the team captain, coach and catcher of Local 3372’s softball team for many years.
Captain Hall also served the Town of Coventry in his capacity as a Town Councilman. In addition, he was the Chairman of the Coventry Sewer Committee and was instrumental in his efforts to bring sewer service to the Town.

Captain Hall is survived by his wife Tracy and his daughter Sarah.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., Coventry.
A funeral mass with full traditional Line of Duty death honors and procedures will be held at Saints John & Paul Church in Coventry on Thursday at 10 a.m., followed by burial at St. Josephs Cemetery in West Greenwich.
