COVENTRY, RI — A pickup truck went into a pole on Flat River Road Friday. Coventry police said officers along with the Western and Central Coventry Fire Departments responded at 11:24 a.m. Friday. The crash happened near 6615 Flat River Road.
The driver, Brian Cote, 47, of Coventry, was trapped inside. The broken telephone pole and electrical wires complicated the rescue. National Grid also responded. A Life Star helicopter took Cote to Rhode Island Hospital. He was the only person involved in the crash. The accident is still under investigation by the Coventry Police Accident Reconstruction Officers.
