Coventry Council Approves New Police Chief

The town council unanimously approved Benjamin Witt's promotion to police chief.

COVENTRY, RI — The Coventry Town Council unanimously approved the promotion of Benjamin Witt to police chief.

"Chief Witt brings with him years of dedicated service, strong leadership skills, and a deep commitment to both the officers of the department and the residents of Coventry," the Coventry Police Department posted on its Facebook page Friday.

The council approved of Witt during its Thursday night meeting, according to the post.
