Coventry Closes Public Schools; Enacts Parking Ban: RI Winter Storm

COVENTRY, RI — Coventry Public Schools will be closed Tuesday due to a major winter storm that is expected to hit the region.

Coventry also announced a parking ban for Monday night, ahead of a winter storm expected to arrive early Tuesday morning.

The parking ban will be in effect from 9 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Coventry residents can help plows do their job by pulling all trash and recycling carts away from the street, along with basketball hoops or other items that block the street. Also, do not blow snow into the street from driveways.

The storm timing will likely be between 1 a.m. Tuesday and 1 a.m. Wednesday. According to the forecast, the heaviest snow is expected between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
