Coventry: House Fire On MacArthur Boulevard

Crews were called to a fire around 8 p.m.

COVENTRY, RI — Smoke was in the air Saturday night when firefighters were called to 28 MacArthur Blvd. Anthony Fire District Chief Robert Warren said no one was hurt, and no pets were involved. The alarm was sounded around 8 p.m. No one in the house was home, but an alert neighbor saw the fire and called for help.

"It was quickly contained," he said. The last crews left around 9:30 p.m., and the state fire marshal was on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Chief Warren said there was some structural damage and also smoke damage.
