Coventry Man Charged With DUI In Officer-Involved Crash
Patrick Sullivan is facing charges in connection with a crash last week that injured a police officer.

COVENTRY, RI — A Coventry man is facing DUI charges connected with a crash involving a police cruiser last week.
The crash happened just after 7:30 p.m. last Friday, on Main Street. Two vehicles were involved, including a police cruiser.
Patrick Sullivan, 58, of Colvintown Road, was later identified as the person driving the other vehicle. According to police, he crossed the center line, hitting the cruiser head-on. The officer involved was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and is currently out of work and in treatment, police said.

Sullivan was arrested and refused to take a breathalyzer test, police said Friday. He was charged with suspicious of driving under the influence, and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning.
