COVENTRY, RI — The last $35,000 top prize from the Rhode Island Lottery’s Patriots Instant Ticket has been claimed.

Lottery officials said a Coventry man, who typically doesn’t buy $5 tickets, decided to take a chance on the Patriots ticket after hearing on the radio that a top prize was still available. He stopped at Plainfield Pike Gulf at 1889 Plainfield Pike Johnston, and purchased a ticket, leading to the $35,000 win. Lottery officials said he plans to save the money for a rainy day.

Additionally, the final $35,000 prize for the Patriots Instant Ticket was claimed by a man from Mapleville. He said he’s a big Patriots fan, and this was his first time winning a prize this large. He’ll use the money to pay bills.
